Sustainability is not just a buzzword at Muhr & Söhne – it is an integral part of how we operate throughout the entire value chain. This makes us especially proud to support our customer StoCretec on this journey.
Starting immediately, we are using **bluemint® recycled**, the low-CO₂ packaging steel from thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, for StoCretec’s tinplate pails, from 1.25-liter up to 30-liter. The result: 62% fewer CO₂ emissions compared to conventional steel made possible by using biomethane and specially processed steel scrap instead of iron ore and coking coal. The specific emissions are externally certified by DNV, and 84% of tinplate packaging is recycled in Europe – making tinplate the most recycled packaging on the continent.
Jan Gastreich, Managing Director at Muhr & Söhne in Attendorn, clearly sets the direction: “With our metal packaging, we not only produce one of the most sustainable packaging solutions available, we also continuously refine both our products and their manufacturing processes with sustainability in mind. To reduce CO₂, we rely not only on solar power generated on our rooftops but also on purchasing green electricity.
However, the most effective way for our customers to significantly reduce their own carbon footprint is the use of low-carbon tinplate - bluemint® Steel from thyssenkrupp Rasselstein. Even in economically challenging times, we remain steadfastly committed to our course of sustainable and customer-oriented solutions and are resolutely driving it forward. In doing so, we see ourselves as a reliable partner to our customers and actively support them in achieving their sustainability goals."
Thank you, StoCretec, for sending this strong signal together with us in support of sustainability, climate protection, and the responsible use of resources.
